What is SinBoost?

We have all heard of Expo, blah blah blibity blah.

Bottom line on Expo, it corrects for the non-linear output from the servo horn. Side effect, makes the stick feel less sensitive around center.

So what was SinBoost? Its just the opposite, it doesnt reduce center to match the stick extents, instead, it calculates the required servo movement to reach the same desired linear movement.

When you move your stick 1/2 way from center to full forward, the servo will move 15 degrees, and when you move the stick full forward, the servo will move 30 degrees. So far so good.

Now when you have a pushrod connected to the servo horn, the linear distance the rod moves is not proportional to your stick input.

Here is the bottom line on this subject;
Assuming 30 Degrees each direction, for a ball link mounted 16.5mm from center on the servo horn (outter hole, futaba):

Take notice how drastic the sticks die off past 75%!
Thus your controll dies off further from center.

By using SinBoost, we can mathamaticaly calculate the needed servo travel needed so our push rod stays linear and our control does not die off at the stick endpoints!!!

Center : 0 Deg 0.0mm n/a 0 Deg 0.0mm n/a
25% : 7.5 deg 2.15mm 2.15mm 7.54 deg 2.16mm 2.16mm
50% : 15 deg 4.27mm 2.12mm 15.11 deg 4.32mm 2.16mm
75% : 22.5 deg 6.32mm 2.05mm 23.12 deg 6.48mm 2.16mm
100% : 30 deg 8.25mm 1.93mm 31.52 deg 8.64mm 2.16mm
This time, notice how the amount of change is proportional to the stick movement!
Your control no longer dies off at the endpoints

Cant you just extend your endpoints on the radio to do the same thing?

NO - because your radio will remap your entire stick to the new range.
